Surprise parties and homemade cards.

On saturday we hosted a little surprise birthday party for out friend Ben. The boys were having fun playing mario kart on the wii. It was fun to all get together. Happy Birthday Ben!

I was also asked to make a couple cards for our ward craft day and here is what I came up with. I decided to do a thank you card and 2 Christmas cards since it is right around the corner.  This was pretty much my first real attempt at making cards and I am happy with them. Hopefully people in the ward will like them enough to want to make them! :)

Our Temple Calling

A couple weeks ago Justin and I received a phone call from the Temple president who wanted to meet with us.  We were pretty curious about this meeting and surprised when we were called as Temple workers for the St. Paul Minnesota Temple.  I thought that only retired people worked in the Temple.  On thursday we were set apart and worked our first Temple shift. It was such a wonderful experience for us both.  The spirit was incredibly strong and I felt such love and peace being able to serve there.  I felt very intimidated at first seeing how most people who attend the Temple are older then me, but being there as an ordinance worker gave me such an appreciation for my Heavenly Father and I can't express how grateful I am for this opportunity in my life.  Woman can't work in the temple if they have dependents so this is a rare calling for someone my age and I am so grateful to be able to serve and to also serve with some of our friends in our ward here.  I love the Temple, and I am so glad that we will be there more often.

A compilation of many random things.

This is a random post of some things that I have yet to post. Enjoy!

Thing 1: Stillwater.
On October 11th we went to the city of Stillwater with some friends. Stillwater is right across the river from Wisconsin. It was a beautiful little place that reminded me of Park city or Jackson Hole. It had a cute little main street with cute little shops. There is also a walkway along the waterfront. We also drove around for quite a while and looked at all the great old houses near the downtown. It was nice to get out with some friends.

This "Salamander" came driving by. It was awesome!

Thing 2: Callings
I realized that I have never blogged about our callings in our ward. Justin is the 1st counselor in the Young Mens Presidency and I work in the Nursery.  I was a little unsure of it at first but I am in there with Natalie and Annie (see above pic) and so we have a lot of fun in there.  Justin is enjoying going to mutual again and working with the scouts.

Thing 3: The Dodgers
My wonderful husband has been a fan of the LA Dodgers for quite some time and was thrilled that they made it to the playoffs.  After a sweep over the hyped up Chicago cubs we were even more excited to see them beat the phillies and finally make it to the world series! Unfortunately the Phillies beat them 3-1 and my poor hubby's world series dreams were ended. Sorry babe, there's always next year. "It's gonna be their year!"

Thing 4: Here comes the Bride!
My baby sister Julie is getting married.  And for those of you that don't know her, it was gonna take a lot to impress this girl.  In a way only Julie could get engaged her wonderful boyfriend who is a Marine stationed in California bought her a plane ticket to go visit him.  Then he took her for romantic walk on the beach to propose. I hear from her the next day when she called from (of course) Disneyland to break the news.  Caleb, you did a good job and you got yourself a great girl.  She is my only sister (by blood) and I love her dearly. I can't wait to see her as a bride. I have never seen her so happy.  I love you Julie and I am excited to finally meet Caleb at Christmas!

Can't wait to try this!

For those of you that don't know, I work at Archivers which is basically the best Scrapbook store ever. We are currently awaiting our first shipment of this little beauty. It is called the slice and it is made by making memories.  It is an electronic cutter.  For those of you who love to scrapbook as I do, go here to see it in action. It is pretty cool.
Blog Update: We got our store demo in this morning and so I got to play around with it. It is very similar to a Cricut cutter but it is a lot smaller, portable and its not connected to a cord. It is a pretty fun little tool! I showed a lot of people how to use it today and everyone seems really excited about it. Too bad it's 150 big ones!

St. Paul Temple

Today Justin and I were able to go to a session at the St. Paul Temple. We are so blessed to have a temple so close even though we don't live in Utah anymore. The Temple is pretty small but so beautiful. I love the opportunity to attend the Temple with my wonderful husband.

Common Cold

The leaves have begun to turn, displaying colors of golden yellow and fiery red. The air is crisp and cool and bites when you take your first deep breath. The season smells of pumpkin spice and cinnamon, unfortunately I can not smell these things and the crisp air of fall makes my nose run even more then it already has been. I have been snuggled up with a box of kleenex and my newly checked out library books sniffling away. Its not all bad though, it gives me an excuse to lay around and read all day, but if my husband asks, I am very ill and far too sick to do dishes.

Beck and MGMT

On Tues the 30th we went to see Beck and MGMT in concert. We have both loved Beck for a long time and we have just started listening to MGMT and they are awesome. The concert was a blast! We had general admission tix so we were on the floor close to the stage. They both put on a great show and the night was awesome. The only downside was parking. We had an option of paying either 25 bucks or 15 to park. What a rip off. Oh well, it was still fun and my ears finally stopped ringing!
P.S Sorry the pics suck, they were taken on our phone since they don't allow cameras.

Ladies Night

Saturday the 27th was the Relief Society general broadcast. The talks were great and I just loved President Uchtdorfs talk. I know I am not the only one that felt he was speaking just for me. After the broadcast, a bunch of us went from the stake center to Cafe Latte, the yummiest place ever! It was a great night with uplifting messages and some much need girl talk.
